  1. Hey SU If you don't follow the news in Japan you may not know of the destruction that has been caused and is still continuing from giant typhoons! Several hundred people have died and more are missing. Thousands have lost or suffered destruction to their homes and business. I'd love to write a big check and help all I can but unfortunately thats beyond my means. If you follow IG you may know of Japan local bait builder @marute_marute_maruhata He builds a lot of topwater and crawler style baits and he has suffered total destruction of his home and shop. I didn't know him well but I have friends over in Japan that are very concerned and saddened. I reached out to Marte and he sent pics of the destruction and was very receptive to any assistance the U.S. swimbaiters could provide. With permission from the great guys who run SU I've attached an Instagram link to a high performance UPF50 sun shirt with a special BA⚡BC × JAPAN Rising Son graphic. We are retailing this preorder at $60 and after costs we will donate the balance of the funds to Matte and his family. If we hit our goal of at least 25 shirts we estimate being able to send $500-600 dollars. This isn't a lot I know.. but it's better than nothing. Secondly if you are not interested in a tee but want to donate we will gladly accept. Head to @the_b.a.b.c_fishing_is_life or find is on FB to get to the store or follow this link https://thebabc.bigcartel.com/product/rising-son-vapor-hoody Thanks for the love SU

  2. Well boys it finally happened! Her first hudd fish, and swimbait fish. All on her own, cast to catch, And it was a good one. Slow rollin, paused, then started slow rollin and she hammered it. She’s come out with me probably a dozen times since I started this post with no fish but stayed confident and excited to go out and try again. I told her it would pay off and she was going to stick a giant, and she did. A northern Illinois giant that is. She was so pumped. Talk about a proud moment for me. Now she said she can use a different bait. She said she’s going to chuck the 8” hudd @JoshPerkins802 sent her. Thanks bud. She’s a true swimbait head.

  3. As far as swimbait fishing goes, this is the best forum on the internet hands down. The guys who have passed thru this forum, current and past members, are some of the best swimbait fisherman in the world. In some way they all left something here. Don't take that for granted. When you guys wear you're SU stuff you're representing something bigger. Set a good example, help somebody, and don't be a dink. The baits will change, the people will change and fishing will change. But I hope this place stays the same.

  4. Hey Y'all, There are thousands of us on this forum, that spend literally THOUSANDS of dollars on baits... Baits that we put in little pouches and take picture of, hang on the wall, get stuck in the tree, or they might even end up back on the Black Market. Some get fished. Lol.. Would be really awesome to help out in a BIG way!!! We have the means. If even a third of the members on here bought one sun hoodie, We would CRUSH Slant's goal of 25 shirts. We owe sooooo much to our brother's and sister's in the east! Look at all they bring to this sport alone!! Help out! You know you can. You know it's right. Maybe I am being a little preachy, sorry not sorry.

  6. Being that once I began to swimbait heavily, I joined this forum and no others, I tend to think of SU as the main forum. So just keep that in mind. I think we can all agree that SU is an amazing forum. There are very few jerks and scammers in the Black Market. Everyone here is just so close knit and is willing to help no matter what. It wouldn't surprise me to see people trading secret spots on this forum. To be able to see things like this reaffirms so much for me. The kindness we all show to each other. I've seen guys give hundreds of dollars of baits to people who had been stolen from or lost lures in some form or fashion that didn't involve fishing. We all respect the grind and each other in the process, we all know the struggle and the ultimate triumph in the end. It never fails to amaze me. The amount of knowledge that gets shared on a daily basis, all for free. Nobody here ever expects anything in return (unless they're selling on the Black Market). Me alone I have had many many kind people influence me and help me on my start into the game. That is all so selfless. We all look out for the community and are willing to help anyone at a moments notice with anything. This community holds tight. Thank you all for listening to my somewhat rant. Have a fantastic day.

  7. One of my favorite home builds. Inspired by the Golden shiners I used in many FL Lakes. I carved a shiner profile and then shaved 1/4 of the bottom off. It swam awesome fast or slow and actually floats. It dives on retrieve. I made a mold of it and never got a bait to swim fast with resin combinations. So I’m gonna re coat it , make a new mold and try some different materials.

  15. i think most are in agreement with you. In fact, i've bought and sold a freaking ton over on a few other forums tackletour, bassresource and bassboatcentral to name a few. typically the TYD prices in those communities people are including shipping AND the fees in that price. once i started buying seriously in the swimbait scene i realized it's quite the opposite in that the TYD price is shipping only and fees are not included. just a difference of the groups i guess, but i much prefer the one with the fees baked in so that everyone just pays the fees and they're covered 100%. i mean in the end, it all comes down to you and your money and what you're comfortable doing with it! i can say that literally just this week alone paying the fees saved me from a $90 scam on a bait from some clown on FB!!

  18. So after about a year of playing around and making a couple baits, I FINALLY decided to fish one.... and it actually caught a fish! Haha So now I’m pretty motivated to hit the drawing board and get into this a little heavier.

  28. Yes sir! I'm a rookie to the swimbait game, barely two weeks into it, and this board has been a Godsend. The info, the willingness to help, so much good karma floating around this place. I lost a bait on my second cast, maiden voyage, and I had a few guys offer to send me a couple baits to keep me on my journey. Can't thank you guys enough, this place is the NUTS. Thanks for everything SU.

  31. Good advice right there, less is more with this stuff too. Watch out for UV flow, it's the least viscous and'll soak into the wood

  41. Ninja sesh with pops and he lands a 7 on the osprey, looked way bigger than that I think! He’s a new member so I uploaded for him @kevin moore so he didn’t have to wait to get it approved. This was 1 of about 6 swimbait fish throughout the day. Hit him on the drop in about 35ft of water over top a large boulder!

  44. Here's some things I've learned over the years using swimbaits only. Hopefully some of this can be useful to you. 1. Time and place is a key factor. If you don't get bit change your time. Night time can be the right time. 2. Every lake isn't the same. Match the hatch to better your odds and find out what they are keying on. If there isn't big forage in that lake your odds go down. If you can't get bit on multiple style of baits and after making timing adjustments...move on. Find a lake that is known for big fish and swimbaits. Focus your efforts there. 3. Learn big fish behavior, they are wise. Big fish can make adjustments in their feeding habits if they've been caught before. 4. Stick to a handful of proven baits and learn what conditions to throw them. Not all swimbaits work in all lakes and conditions. 5. When you get bit, take note of: angle, presentation, bait, time of day, weather condition, season. You may be able to pattern this and/or apply this elsewhere. 6. Present your bait where it becomes an easy meal. Along a wall, top water, on the ground, along weedlines, etc. 7. Swimbaiting isnt for everyone..and I am glad. Tight lines.
