    New PB 7.9lbs on a toxic wake and crank. Tough day battling swirling winds. I’m fishing out of a crawdad so it gets blown around like a styrofoam cup. Tucked out of the wind in a small cove with some lay downs. Cranked down the last lay down and right at the end it gets smashed. Didn’t realize it was that big till it was at the boat. A nice clean healthy fish. It’s been a while since I caught a real nice one so I’m pretty stoked

    Since the forums are back up and running, and I finally made an account, I wanted to share my new personal best and first real "big" swimbait fish. 9lbs 7oz 25" length caught on a lavender color 6.75" 3:16 Lure Company weedless Rising Son on 3/28/2021 in St. Lucie County, FL. Catch was submitted to and approved by Florida's FWC Trophy Catch Program Lunker Club, meaning the bass was caught, documented, and released back, completely unharmed, to be caught again another day!     The Depps 250 is the most overrated bait of all time imo. The workhorse has also been an early disappointment for me too. I consider myself an experienced glide bait fisherman too.

    Spotted her the other day on a bed and decided to let her spawn in peace. I’m glad I did because I was able to fish the same spot today with the whippersnapper and she slurped it under and bent out my trebles during the fight. Not a bad fish for the northeast! I’m getting pretty good at long arming these 5lbers lmao

    Got my first K9 back in December and struggled at first but I finally stuck a good fish on it! Not sure on weight but she was WIDEEEEE and full of shad.Big girl T-boned the bait in less than a foot of water and tried to run me into the lay down I lured her off of!

    I let a crank bait paint guy give one of my bgc shads a try. He sand blasted it to get the paint off cuz that’s what he’s used to doing. So the bait lost its texture but swims perfectly it’s a moderate/fast sink, closer to moderate. I fish my glides super slow so it’s not for me. Would sell for 150 or trade for a bullshad gill glide. I can text more pics to anyone interested. If you get the bait and feel I misrepresented anything about it I’ll gladly swap back your trade or cash. As long as it’s within a few weeks and there’s no damage. pics included.

    8" hudd for me. I caught my current swimbait pb on a hudd 68 my first week swimbaiting so naturally I thought the 8" would be killer. Fished it a ton in the same areas I was catching on the 68. I think in the last two years of fishing it I've had maybe one bite. Somehow I still haven't given up on it yet.

    I’ve been working on my airbrushing lately and finished repainting a few 230’s. I went out to a local urban lake and had one of my best days I’ve had for 2 and a half hours of fishing. I stuck 4 all on the same stretch of docks. I was fishing the 230 using rod and reel bumps simultaneously.

    The hook on the right is a #1 kvd short shank. The 35 is a hair taller than the kvd and where the barbs are spread on the 35 it's a little wider than the kvd. The 35 and the short shank kvd #1 are almost identical in size, hope this helps

    Soft Swimbaits in general give me a really hard time. I just don’t know how to trigger the bit. Only time I get bit is when I’m rippin em out of the grass or something not ideal like that.

    Went a bit playboy on this one. United Composites CE800 Mega, Fuji Alconites, hypalon grips alps single trigger. X-long butt wrap on this one. Can’t believe I don’t have a pic of it finished, it’s beat up now but you get the picture. Peacock wrap, was not easy to figure the color pattern out and epoxying the feather inlay was a pita.
