Caught this fish on an OG deps 250 Slideswimmer in Butch Brown natty trout. The lake had a fresh trout plant and I saw some of the locals catching trout by a wood fence and they said every time they bring a trout up this bass follows it all the way to the shore. First casts at the spot the fish bit on 2 consecutive casts with a Huddleston than after that nothing. Just as I'm about to leave the lake I decide to head back to the spot and stick a 4.7 pound largemouth. I'm new to throwing large swimbaits, just bought a deps 250 and have seen more big fish come look at this thing then I've ever seen before. Was fortunate enough to get an opportunity see Butch Brown at the Fred Hall Show, was impressed/inspired to try and give this a huge swimbait thing a shot as well. This website and forum have been super informative. My current issue is with this lure breaking off. I've never invested as much in a lure in my life, I've gone swimming/wading for this thing 3 times in 3 days. 1) Snagged on a marker Buoy chain, dove down to get it. 2) Snapped my fluro leader, luckily in shallow/clear water 3) Upgraded my leader to 20 Lbs Fluro, snapped at the knot and went deep into tullies, I waded in after it and thank god found it. I had my leader tied to 80 Lbs Krazen braid, am now only confident in tying it straight to my braid but assume big fish see my line? I'm now less focused on fishing well and more nervous about losing $150-$175 lure. All my breaks have occurred on Fluro, it's all new, used seguar 12 Lbs and pline 20 lbs? knots are palomar and this other one I found on the internet, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE3OXADeadw. Any advice would be great, thank you for your time.

Does anyone have tips/advice for swimbait fishing heavily pressured LA area lakes like Alondra or Kenneth Hahn? Any help like baits, time of day, weather patterns, etc would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey SU, some things have come up and I have to let go of this one. OG Deps 250 in Natural Saiko Trout. Thrown very little, but has a few hook marks towards the tail. Hooks have been swapped to 2/0 gama round bends. Sink rate is stock. Overall in very good condition. 250 shipped and insured through usps priority mail. Paypal as gift or add 4%. Thanks! -
Broke my month old DD 10.14 PB with a Teener today 13.67 my first. Total weight for the day was 40.82 lbs. five fish limit which is also my PB. Only had one fish before 10:45 am on the Deps 250. My 4th stop in my milkrun all hell broke loose best two hours in my life fishing. Got'em section for the rest of the pics.

3 New style Deps 250's... also have a New Flash Carp I know it's a long shot but would really like to get my hands on a Hinkle if anyone has an extra...I feel this is a fair deal. But open to any large shad profile trade will do... Sound desperate I know but I have been waiting on a bait for a long time and really need something before a guide trip next week Thank you -

Today started off real slow from what I have been use too. But I stayed after it and it payed off. Only one fish in the boat at 10:45 am. Just thought it was going to be one of those days. Wind was apeing on which did'nt help things where I was trying to fish. It just made it tougher keeping the boat where I wanted it. First fish of the day was pushing 6, second fish over 5 so not bad I'm thinking then another in the 6 range now I'm really pumped. A few smaller 4lbers mixed in which I ended up culling out after all was said and done. The 8.68 was the kicker I thought until the Beast swung and missed on the first cast as she was protecting her lair, the swirl was massive I new it was a good fish . Second cast there was no mistake it was like she was just waiting for another shot at the 250. What a Two hours of fishing; My new PB 13.67 and 5 fish limit PB over 40 at the same time. I fished until about 1:00 packed up headed home, it wasn't going to get any better than that.

Drove 8 hours back and forth over the last two days. Nice typical August Texas weather 102 degrees yesterday and it hit 103 today. The saving factor was the wind today. I mananged over 60lbs in the two days of fishing in the SU Tournament. I had my opprotunity yesterday and squandered it with a DD unbuttoned at the boat.. Hit it hard today no missed fish but some real nice toads, 9 total these were the good ones. All on Glide baits. Today the fish were a little more finicky than yesterday. HPH 9" Gliding Gizzard, Hinkle Shad, and New Deps 250 were the baits for these. Two of these dudes were almost Back to Back 7's one of them ate my lunch. She was some kind of pissed off just one solid muscle and tore me up. Hook set started to reel and nothing she wasn't gonna move, just started stripping drag. She finally came around but a huge battle. Everyfish caught today was in perfect view. Some I never even felt the strike but I could see it, that was pretty awesome.

New Deps 250 -
Had 5 in the 4-6 lb range follow my Bluegill 250 to the boat today tuff bite and HOT out there 102 today. No takers, so close just would not commit but entertaining to watch. Did manage a few to save the day after spending 2 hrs dragging the bottom looking for my Hinkle no luck on that though. These Bass were biting down on the head of the bait right in front of the boat it was cool watching them go in for the kill. Some missed all together so I hit them with the 3:16 7" Mission Fish and bingo. No big girls but fun to catch.

How do yall feel about feathers? Do you think they hide hooks? Give off a more realistic look? Or do you think they look flat out silly an cut them off?

Here are a few 12" slammers. on is a bit older (2004) with the juvi trout pattern. also a little size/hook spacing and feels about an ounce heavier. all have upgraded owner hooks. none have been fished much. open to offers/trades. looking for 3:16 hyper herring or other baits possibly, HPH, deps 250's, etc. or cash per each or for all. pm or text 8649782945. Hi, y'all So, I'm looking to get myself a SS or SK for a certain pattern I use quite frequently. In the lake I have in mind, the biggest bass eat large gizzard shad and yellow bass (bar fish). There are no trout in the lake, and the fish don't normally feed on bluegill. I have no experience with the Deps products, so I need some input from people who fish them frequently. My question is: for 6-8" gizzard shad and yellow bass, what size and colour should I get? Also, between the 175 SS and 250 SS, which can be fished slower? Last question: does a converted SK of either size have a different action than a SS of the same size?
